Education :

Mr. Wright graduated from Chamberlain Senior High School in Tampa, Florida in 1981. He received a Bachelor of Arts, with honors, from Florida State University in 1984. He completed his undergraduate studies as a Selby Foundation Scholar in less than 3 years with honors in two majors, Philosophy and Political Science, as well as a minor in French. Mr. Wright was elected to Outstanding Young Men in America in 1985 and to Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1986. Mr. Wright received a Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 1987. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987. While at the University of Florida, Mr. Wright served as Attorney General of the Student Honor Court and Chairman of the College of Law Moot Court Board. He is a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Eta Sigma, Florida Blue Key, The Order of the Barristers and the American Inns of Court.

Associations
Mr. Wright is a member of the Florida Bar. He currently serves on the Florida Bar Speakers’ Bureau and has served as a member of the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar, Young Lawyers Division and the Board of Directors of the Orange County Bar Association, Young Lawyers Division. Mr. Wright is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle and Southern Districts of Florida and the United States Tax Court. He has received the highest national rating (“AV”) for ethics and practice ability from Martindale-Hubbell, the leading national attorney evaluation source for over 130 years. He has also been recognized by Law and Leading Attorneys, Florida Edition. He is a member of The Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers.

Practice History
Mr. Wright began his practice in Orlando with Maguire, Voorhis & Wells, P.A., the oldest and largest Central Florida law firm at the time of hire. The Maguire Firm employed over seventy attorneys at the time of Mr. Wright’s departure in 1989. After practicing with Griffin, Linder & Wright, P.A., a personal injury and medical malpractice firm for approximately four years, Mr. Wright founded the law firm now know as The Wright Firm, P.A. in 1993. Mr. Wright manages all Firm operations and serves as lead counsel in all Firm cases. He has participated in hundreds of depositions, mediations and court appearances. His experience includes numerous arbitrations, non-jury trials and jury trials. He has participated in actions throughout the United States, including California, Texas, Illinois, Michigan, Iowa and Pennsylvania. He is currently entering his eighteenth year of practice. His practice focuses on personal injury, wrongful death and medical malpractice.

Community :

Mr. Wright has remained active in the community since serving as student body president of his Tampa, Florida high school. He was elected Florida American Legion Boys’ State Governor in 1980 and represented Florida, as one of 100 young men selected from the entire country, at Boys’ Nation in Washington, D.C. the same year. In these capacities, Mr. Wright met with President Jimmy Carter in the White House Rose Garden, delivered a keynote speech introducing Ronald Reagan at Al Lopez Field in Tampa, Florida, met with George H.W. Bush in Sarasota, Florida, introduced Senator Lawton Chiles to the Florida American Legion Midyear Meeting in Hollywood, Florida and delivered addresses throughout the state. In 1980, Mr. Wright received statewide appointments from both major political parties. He has remained politically active since.

Mr. Wright has served on numerous community boards of directors including the Center for Independent Living, a United Way agency dedicated to the disabled, the Mayflower Retirement Community, the Stonehill Homeowners Association, the Maitland Citizens Advisory Council and the local Boy Scouts of America District. He is a former Sunday School teacher and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of his local church.

He has actively and regularly raised charitable contributions for the American Cancer Society, The Buoniconti Foundation to Cure Paralysis, and the Orange County Bar Scholarship Fund, with his longstanding musical group of attorneys, “The Learned Hands.”

Personal :

Mr. Wright resides in Central Florida with his high school sweetheart wife of 23 years and his two children. His interests include boating, nature and music.
